3D Printing and my journey...

This is not a tutorial site. What it is (and how it might help you) is a documentation of my journey into the incredible word of 3D printing.

First a bit about me. I've made models from a very early age ranging from plastic aircraft. My father introduced me into it and while our areas of interests both were diverse and similar, he gave me the gift of creation and that is something that I will be eternally grateful for.x

One of the things that dogs my mind is how he would have loved the 3D printer I got late 2025 and how it can make the most amazing model from liquid (resin).

Ok, so at the moment I have an Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra and I love it. I bought it with the Elegoo Mercury Curing / Washing Station. After about 3 months I bought the filter to try and preserve my life for a few more rotations around this planet.

I have chosen to use water washable  resin. I've only ever tried a couple of resins these being the Elegoo and Nova 3D. Mainly I use the Elegoo but the Nova 3D ones work amazing too.

I use the Lychee Slicer that I have found to be amazing, the discord has been invaluable in answering questions when prints fail. Believe me if you start this hobby you will have fails and I still get them, make mistakes and find different ways to do things.

The picture on the right was my first print and is Isla Faust from Mission Impossible. I know the dress is supposed to be translucent and maybe one day I will reprint her in clear resin and see what I can do!!!
